Wavescapes

When I paint waves, I'm like a surfer constantly searching for the perfect wave, and I always find it in my imagination. I then have the pleasure and challenge of trying to capture what I see in my mind with my paints on paper. My objective is to capture the hypnotic beauty and the explosive power of the sea. I concentrate on close-up views of individual waves; I want the viewer to experience the ocean's mesmerizing color, sensual movement, and its incredible energy.
One of my Wavescapes is currently included in the exhibition "Texas Women. Texas Waves." at the Texas Surf Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas.

I create watercolors which capture the sun's magic. I call my paintings "Water-Escapes" because viewing a sunset or sunrise is an uplifting experience. The stresses of the day are swept away by the shimmering light and hypnotic color.
